Italy of Multiple Migrations – A New Snapshot of Our Country

Today, more than ever, Italian reality is told through stories of mobility: young people seeking new opportunities, families relocating, depopulating rural areas, and the challenge of building active and inclusive citizenship. The new "Italians in the World 2024 Report" by the Migrantes Foundation offers a fascinating and complex overview of these flows. Since the beginning of 2023, net migration has returned to negative: nearly 53,000 Italians have decided to leave, while rural areas continue to lose inhabitants. The numbers are clear: more than 6.1 million Italians now live abroad, and increasingly, this phenomenon also involves young people and entire families. This reality raises important questions for policymakers: how can we ensure inclusion? How can we value the diversity of migration experiences? To learn more, read the full report available on the Migrantes Foundation's website. 👇 #Migration #ItaliansAbroad #MigrantesReport #Inclusion #ActiveCitizenship For the first time in the GCC region, the RIM report will be presented by its authors during a special event coordinated by BCIR in Riyadh in March 2025.
